Becky is a Child and Youth Worker (CYW) and Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Becky provides services to children, adolescents,and adults.

Training/Work Experience: Becky completed the Child and Youth Worker program at Fanshawe College and is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She has been trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and is certified in the treatment of both Tourette Syndrome/Tic Disorders and BFRB disorders (i.e., Comprehensive Behavioural Intervention for Tics; and the Comprehensive Model for Behavioural Treatment of BFRBs). She completed the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program allowing her to also bring her skills to different hospital settings as an after-hours on-call chaplain. Becky is passionate about advocating and providing education regarding mental health and has provided education and training sessions provincially, nationally, and internationally in the areas of Trauma Informed Care, Skill Deficits, Tic and Tourette Syndrome, Anxiety and ADHD.

Presenting Concerns: Becky uses a variety of modalities to assist children, adolescents, and adults with presenting concerns such as: Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRB) , including Trichotillomania (hair pulling) and Excoriation (skin picking), Tourette Syndrome/Tic Disorders, Emotion Dysregulation, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Approach: Becky uses a trauma informed approach for each Workout (session) ensuring compassion, understanding, empathy, and wherever possible, humour, to help lighten the load while building new skills. Becky has provided counselling and services in a variety of settings including children’s mental health agencies, group homes, and open custody facilities for youth. She provides therapy in both individual and group formats striving to make each session unique based on individual needs, as well as engaging and fun, building on the many strengths of each Member.

Outside of MindFit: Becky,loves spending time with family and friends, travelling, reading, laughing, being outdoors, and going to the beach and on random road trips.
