Dr. Kathleen Lee

Clinical and Health Psychologist

Dr. Kathleen Lee is registered to provide services to children and adolescents with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) with specialization in Clinical and Health Psychology.

Training/Work Experience: Dr. Lee completed her Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and a 1-year clinical residency at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa, Canada. In addition to working at MindFit, Dr. Lee is an Assistant Professor at McMaster University and works as a health psychologist in the Pediatric Chronic Pain Clinic at McMaster Children’s Hospital where she provides patient care and engages in teaching, supervision and program development.

Presenting Concerns: Dr. Lee has significant experience supporting youth with complex needs across a broad range of areas:

  • anxiety and phobias
  • depression and low mood
  • difficulties coping with stress
  • adjustment to life stressors and/or medical events
  • chronic pain and somatic symptoms (e.g., headaches, nausea)
  • emotion regulation challenges
  • OCD
  • tic disorders
  • body-focused repetitive behaviours
  • ADHD

Approach: Dr. Lee takes an evidence-based approach to supporting youth by integrating across a variety of different therapies (CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy, emotion-focused approaches, mindfulness and acceptance-based frameworks). Using a non-judgemental and compassionate stance, Dr. Lee works collaboratively with young people and their families to co-create the conditions for growth and change.

Outside of MindFit: Dr. Lee enjoys spending time with her family including her husband, toddler and Labrador retriever. She also enjoys travelling, watching movies and rock-climbing.
