Dr. Tali Burstein
Dr. Tali Burstein is a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the College of Psychologists in the provinces of Ontario and British Columbia.
Training/Work Experience: Dr. Burstein received her Master’s and Doctoral degrees from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. She completed a summer practicum in the Anxiety Treatment and Research Clinic of St. Joseph’s Hospital (Hamilton, Ontario) and a one-year clinical residency at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. She has also received training through several hospital and university-based programs and clinics, including an adult ADHD program, CBT clinic, and Concordia University’s on-site psychology centre. Upon completion of her Ph.D., Dr. Burstein worked in Minnesota and quickly became a primary referral for patients and medical practitioners from the Mayo Clinic.
Presenting Concerns: Dr. Burstein works with adults with a broad range of challenges including anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, low mood/depression/burnout, substance use problems, ADHD and related symptoms, insomnia/difficulties with sleep, post-trauma stress, and body focused repetitive behaviours (e.g., hair-pulling and skin picking).
Approach: Dr. Burstein takes an empathic and collaborative approach to help her clients overcome struggles and live more meaningful lives. Dr. Burstein offers Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based interventions.
Outside of MindFit, When Dr. Burstein is not working, she loves spending time with her family! She also enjoys seeing her friends, most of whom she has known since childhood. She also really enjoys being active and going out to new restaurants.
